This Is NOT The Monster, Part 3
There will be no Greg Grunberg in Cloverfield, according to TV Guide:
There will not be a cameo by Heroes' Greg Grunberg, who has appeared in many of longtime friend Abrams' previous projects. "We thought people would be too familiar with him," Reeves says. Guess eveybody doesn't need a hero.
The funny thing is, it was TV Guide who originally reported that he was going to be in the movie:
One movie that Abrams is casting Grunberg in is the buzzerific disaster flick known only by its myriad working titles (i.e., Cloverfield, 1-18-08, Slusho). "It'll probably be something where no one will be able to tell it's me," he said. "As you know, J.J. calls me his good-luck charm, so he's got to put me in there somewhere. I actually went to the set the other night, and it was really exciting and cool. The budget is not astronomical. But they're doing incredible things."

well if hes not in the movie you think hes in the ARG? ever since i saw the chuai videos i can't stop thinking he plays the part of Ganu, since we can't see his face and all
OMG just saw one of the cloverfield commercials her eon australian pay tv (austar/foxtel)!
I was thinking the same thing, colt.
If you can imagine Grunberg with his back to the camera, you can see it kinda looks like Ganu in that image with him looking out the window.
How will we know what the monster is thinking then?
Maybe he IS Ganu. He was quoted in the original TV Guide article as saying that he would have SOME role in J.J.'s project... maybe Ganu's NOT in the movie but Grunberg plays him for the viral marketing? (Maybe this is also why Jamie isn't listed as a character in the movie?)

It would be very sneaky if that was him - like the MI3 scene JJ mentioned in the TED video.
If Grunberg was Ganu, that would just totally pwn everything.

Dennis, with respect, there's no way in Hell that Greg is posing as Ganu Yoshida in that picture. The picture of Ganu just doesn't look like Greg at all. They have a totally different "build" or "frame", i guess.
Back-up a little, there are things that concern me:
-Is Ganu Yoshida that old dude from the Chuai station NEWS or just a spokesperson from Tagruato?
-Is Ganu Yoshida on the picture with his back turned looking at the window (possibly a younger version)?
-How come Ganu Yoshida doesnt have much picture in the Tagruato Website? I'm just wondering because if you are so proud of how good your company is running, you might want to have pictures of you as the owner/CEO & your Happy Zoomin Employees all over the web..
